My Greatest Accomplishment
Professionally, it has been creating and sustaining our Emergency Medicine Administrative Fellowship. I was inspired to create the fellowship after I’d done my own administrative training independently. I brought the fellowship from concept to reality by crafting the curriculum, outlining the structure, setting the requirements, developing the interview process and recruiting fellowship faculty. Overall, though, I would have to say my greatest accomplishments are becoming a mother and starting a family.
How Drexel Helped Me
Participating in the College of Medicine’s Program for Integrated Learning provided me with the critical-thinking skills needed to practice excellent clinical medicine. I’m very thankful I had the opportunity to learn medicine in a way that promoted independent thinking, yet fostered communication and collaboration. Those skills have also served me well as I further my administrative career.
Where I Hope to Be in Five Years
I’m looking forward to continued career growth, with an ongoing balance of clinical and administrative work, on a path toward becoming a department chair. I’m also excited to spend more time with our family.
How I Pay It Forward
I truly enjoy teaching trainees, both clinically and administratively, and am fortunate to have the chance to do that every day. In addition to the fellowship, I am a core faculty member for our residency program and oversee a curricular thread in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine. I’m also grateful for the opportunity to mentor our fellows, residents and students to help them further their career growth.
