My Greatest Accomplishment
My role in developing Christiana’s formal comprehensive multidisciplinary aortic health center as co-director. My colleagues and I have developed a multidisciplinary conference to discuss complex cases and have done the first thoracic branch endoprosthesis case as well as the first-of-its-kind for traumatic aortic injury in Delaware. We have also done the first laser-fenestrated aortic case in Delaware. We are in the process of designing a new hybrid operating room for our hospital and growing our capabilities for complex aortic care for the patients in Delaware and surrounding areas.
How Drexel Helped Me
Drexel and the College of Medicine provided the educational foundation as well as the tools for leadership and collaboration that have contributed to my success as a vascular surgeon.
Where I Hope to Be in Five Years
I aspire to further contribute to the community by enhancing patient care and advancing medical education especially for aortic disease, as we continue to grow and develop our center for aortic health.
How I Pay It Forward
I pay it forward through my role as a clinical assistant professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, through actively participating in various medical societies and by contributing to the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee for the Society for Vascular Surgery. I mentor medical students and residents who have an interest in surgery. I teach about vascular surgery on social media through my Instagram and X accounts, particularly through photography and videography, which has connected me to people across the world.
