My Greatest Accomplishment
The realization of my capacity to guide individuals toward their higher purpose, a transformative journey initiated by my bold decision to depart from my corporate role and fully embrace the realm of social entrepreneurship. This pivotal shift allowed me to adopt a perspective that sees people as unique individuals, enabling me to harness my knowledge and skills to effectively unite organizations and individuals. Through this approach, I’ve successfully propelled social entrepreneurship to the forefront, making it the driving force behind my endeavors and creating meaningful connections that transcend traditional boundaries.
How Drexel Helped Me
Drexel was foundational in my personal and professional development, providing a well-rounded education and invaluable co-op experiences that became central to my discovery of social good and entrepreneurship as my true passions. Beyond graduation, my engagement with the University extended into a thriving network with fellow alumni, students, faculty and affiliated organizations. Together, we collaborated on impactful initiatives, such as the global donation device campaign with NERDiT CARES. This collaborative effort successfully bridged the digital divide, providing more than 100 individuals with essential technology resources and reinforcing my commitment to driving positive change through technology and social entrepreneurship.
Where I Hope to Be in Five Years
I am poised to take a central role in driving transformative change within my community. My blog, “An-Other Words,” will evolve into a thriving community, actively fostering environments that empower and uplift marginalized individuals through the power of literature. Simultaneously, my businesses, ViaConnect and NERDiT CARES, will serve as cornerstones of social impact. ViaConnect propels organizational growth and positive change through advanced business operations and analytics and NERDiT CARES significantly narrows the digital divide by providing devices, certification training and advancements in wealth and income. My personal commitment is to be at the forefront of this transformative movement, ensuring that my contributions translate into tangible improvements for those who need it most in my community.
How I Pay It Forward
By connecting individuals to an array of resources, creating pathways for them to successfully network and pursue their true passions. I am dedicated to leaving a trail of opportunity and growth, particularly for those facing income, wealth and educational disparities. By using technology, civic engagement, reading and financial literacy, I volunteer extensively in student-led events, sit on the boards of Students Run Philly Style and Kensington High Technology Occupational Advisory Committee, and spearhead initiatives such as Tech Device Repair Days to provide free repairs to communities facing digital deficiencies. This multifaceted approach aims to empower individuals and bridge divides through accessible resources and community support.
