MA dance/movement therapy and counseling ’09
Founder & CEO, Pippy Sips LLC and evidence-based practice implementation manager, Community Behavioral Health
My Greatest Accomplishment: Inventing the first portable storing, cooling and monitoring system for breastmilk (patent pending; available for purchase in 2020) while raising two powerful daughters and working tirelessly for Medicaid-insured Philadelphians to have access to cutting-edge behavioral health treatment.
How Drexel Helped: I started working in the social services field around 15 years ago. And I am a lifelong lover of dance. So when I decided to go to grad school, I picked the Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling program at Drexel because it seemed like the perfect curriculum and environment for fostering my service-oriented and creative interests. I was right! My Drexel degree led to me to exciting opportunities in the private and public sector of Philadelphia’s behavioral health system, and it expanded my capacity to think “outside-of-the-box” to the extent that I was able to invent a new product to help nursing moms who use breast pumps.
Where I’ll Be in 5 years: Having fun with my family, still living in South Philadelphia, five years older and (hopefully) five years wiser!
“If I live to be 100, the change I’d most like to see in the world is…
kindness to, and compassion for, other people — no matter how different they might seem — becoming standard, cherished values.” — Amberlee Venti
