PRINCIPAL, XPLORA SEARCH GROUP

Sara Babitt Schneider of Xplora Search Group is an alumna honoree of Drexel Magazine's 40 Under 40 Class of 2026.

Facing off a post-graduation recession, Sara Schneider persevered as a recruiter matching executives with companies for key positions.

Nothing builds resilience like adversity — a truth Sara Schneider knows well. Graduating into a recession, she entered the workforce during one of the most uncertain economic periods in recent history, yet she went on to build a career as a top-billing executive recruiter and business owner at Xplora Search. “My story is one of turning challenges into milestones,” says Schneider (née Babitt). A two-time Drexel alumna with degrees in legal studies and finance and an MBA in organizational behavior, she has consistently delivered record-breaking results while helping others navigate pivotal career moments. Launching her career amid market volatility required adaptability, persistence and calculated risk-taking. When traditional paths weren’t available, Schneider chose to make bold, informed moves. Early in her recruiting career, she was engaged in a complex leadership search — the market was tight, the expectations were high, and the timeline was aggressive. “I believed the right leader was out there,” she says. The placement ultimately transformed the client’s business and remains one of her proudest professional achievements. Schneider’s connection to Drexel extends far beyond the classroom. She served as an adjunct professor at LeBow for a decade and continues to mentor students and speak on career development. She and her husband, Jordan — also a two-time Drexel alumnus — also contribute annually to the LeBow Operation Graduation Scholarship Fund, supporting juniors and seniors facing unexpected challenges that could prevent them from completing their degree.

“I started my career in the shadow of the 2009 recession — uncertain, but determined.”

That same grit now fuels her commitment to helping others rise, guiding candidates to their next chapter, mentoring future leaders, and ensuring Drexel students cross the graduation stage despite life’s obstacles. “Drexel gave me the tools to build my future,” Schneider says. “I’m committed to using them to help others build theirs.”

In her own words…

My Greatest Accomplishment:

Building a career centered on trust and long-term impact. Over time, I’ve grown a business and reputation rooted in helping people make high-stakes career decisions with confidence, even during uncertain or challenging moments. I’m most proud that clients and candidates return to me not just for results, but because they feel understood and supported throughout the process. Creating that level of credibility and consistency took years of hard work, adaptability and learning from successes and failures, and it’s something I don’t take lightly.

How Drexel Shaped My Path:

Drexel helped me by teaching me how to learn quickly, adapt in real time and take ownership of my work early. The co-op experience exposed me to real responsibility before I felt “ready,” which built confidence and resilience that I still rely on today. Drexel’s emphasis on practical learning helped me develop strong judgment, not just technical skills, which has been critical in navigating career pivots, leadership decisions and growth. It taught me that progress doesn’t come from waiting for certainty, but from showing up prepared and figuring things out as you go.

Where I Hope To Be in Five Years:

In five years, I hope to continue growing Xplora Search and a platform that allows me to have a meaningful influence, both professionally and personally. I want to keep building teams and creating opportunities that extend beyond individual roles or transactions. At the same time, I’m focused on sustaining a life that reflects balance, purpose and presence, especially as my kids and responsibilities grow. To me, success means evolving and scaling while staying true to the values that shaped me. DM
